| "I
started dancing at the age of three and very early on I
began competing in ballroom dancing. My parents were professional
dancers so it was natural for me to spend most of my spare
time in their studio. When not dancing I was studying and
graduated from college in Denmark with a BS in nutrition
and home economics. Though Danish born I became Swedish
National Champion with my partner at the time in Standard
and Ten Dance. I represented Sweden at the European and
World Championships, and I also managed to be one of the
very few on the national team in all styles (Latin, Standard,
and Ten-Dance) at the same time. I knew very early on that
dancing and teaching was what I wanted to do, so opening
a studio with Alex followed the plans and hopes I always
had. "

"I
started my ballroom dance training in Poland in 1989. After
moving to US, I continued my dance education in ballroom
as well as ballet, modern, and jazz. I performed regularly
with Illinois Dance Theatre in many dance and musical productions.
For several years I successfully competed as an amateur
reaching the finals at the national championships in both
Standard and Ten-Dance. My career took a different direction
when I met Katja. After forming our partnership in 2002
and marrying the following year, we turned professional
and started rising through ranks of the competitive circuit.
Aside from dancing, I have a BS degree in microbiology from
University of Illinois and for ten years I worked for a
major pharmaceutical company.
Today we continue our successful career as competitive dancers
in International Standard and American Smooth styles. As
teachers, we are Members with US Terpsichore Association
and continue our education with the World’s best teachers
to achieve the highest levels of knowledge and expertise."
